Blog rules

Thanks for coming over and reading my thoughts and musings.

Now that there is a little more traffic flowing through The Otherness I thought that I should lay down some ground rules.  You’ve heard of the Ten Commandments, now take particular note of the FOUR commandments.    These rules are in rough order of importance:

1.  Be christlike or pleasant in your discussions if you are a believer or non-believer respectively.  I want this blog to have a tone that is critical, insightful but respectful and amiable.  Let’s shoot for this.

2.  I think it goes hand-in-hand with the first rule but I will state it for the record – No profanity or blasphemy.  If you wouldn’t say it to your mother, mother-in-law, or the queen of England, don’t say it.

3.  I will normally make 2 or 3 responses to any particular argument.  I would love to argue all day long but I have other important responsibilities that demand my time.  Please don’t consider it rude or a cop out if I exit a discussion before you have won me over:)

4.  Please keep the discussion on the blog post.  There will be other posts to discuss what kind of stone the 10 commandments were written on.  Ok, maybe not, but there are, and will be, a wide range of ideas and topics to discuss without needing to move off topic in a particular post.

Cheerio,

Dan
